What does security cost? Do you feel safe knowing your genetic background holds heart problems? Your cholesterol is high, you’re overweight ,have high blood pressure,a smoker,a couch potato, diabetic,or prone to thrombophlebitis(inflammation of veins with clot formation).

A defibrillator costs $2-3,000. It saves lives. It is more important than a car or a house. If you need one and can’t get one you might not need one anymore. Was it worth scimping on your life? Think about it.

Today I want to pay homage to those special rescuers of sudden cardiac arrest(SCA) victims. You came upon frightening situations, pushed past your fear, and aided a stranger, friend or family member with life saving proceedures of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and/or cardiac defibrillation. Even if your attempt failed it was not your fault. You did what another could not. YOU TRIED! God bless you for that.
Not everyone can be a hero. Some of us become frozen when faced with such a scary situation and regret and guilt will always be with us for what might have been a different conclusion. Were we cowards? Maybe and maybe not. Maybe it was meant to be. Only God knows and only He should judge us.
This is for those who stepped up in time of need. The unsung heroes who tried to make a difference to our fellow man, woman, or child. God Bless you. Your treasure is in heaven and it will be overwhelming.
Paul Smith’s College, located in the Andirondacks of upper New York state, received a donation of an automated external defibrillator(AED) from Excellus Blue Cross and Blue Shield. This is part of a program to get AEDs throughout the 11 county area serviced by Excellus BCBS.
The colleges sports Area is being renovated with a climbing wall, salt water pool, fitness center, and a 3,000 seat gymnasium. It is a wellness center for the college students and the community.
The defibrillator donated is a Philips Heartstart Defibrillator that retails for $2500. The defibrillator is fully automated with audio voice prompts to assist with the device’s operation. If a pulse is detected the device will not shock the victim.
With an analytical defibrillator which assess the problem of an SCA victim and a quality renovation project I’d say that their health program is off to a great start. GO Paul Smith’s College!!!!!
