Philips Heartstart OnsiteCardiac defibrillators were first used in 1947 when Dr. Claude Beck shocked a patient’s non-functioning heart to restart it. He must have felt so awed at his successful accomplishment. Think how crude his defibrillator must have been.

Today our advancements in portable defibrillators are amazing. The leaders in defibrillators, Philips,Defibtech, and Zoll, to mention a few, have defibrillators that assess the patient’s status and verbally tell you the appropriate steps to take to reverse a cardiac arrest.

Our second chance of survival is enhanced with this technology and speedy action.
