Zoll prothe Zoll Pro AED supports Basic Life Support as well as Advanced Life Support. An LCD display lets responders see a patient’s ECG by using a 3-lead cable.

A special real-time feedback mechanism called ‘Real CPR Help” on the Zoll defibrillator allows rescuers to visualize and hear how well they are performing the rate and depth of chest compressions during CPR. The mechanism has a metronome set at AHA standards of 100 BPM and guide the rescuer in his/her rhythm of compressions. A voice prompt will also guide them with depth accuracy in the compressions. See thru CPR, another innovation, allows the professional rescuer to view the ECG rhythm when the AED is in manual mode and the chest compressions are being performed.

They hold a yearly International Educational Conference & Exposition forsharing experiences, innovations, new ideas, training tips and best practices. The conference is structured to meet educational goals for CPR. It is open to paramedics, EMTs,nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, managers, and certified instructors.

Defibrillators by Zoll,Philips, and Defibtech offer mechanical advancement in the science of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) . The Defibtech defibrillator offers a video in real time to guide you through defibrillation and CPR. zoll plusThe Zoll Medical Corporation says their product works all the time. If the sudden cardiac arrest(SCA) victim need to be defibrillated due to a cessation of a heartbeat the Zoll Plus will deliver a shock. If, on the other hand, the SCA victim does not need a shock the Zoll Plus will help you maintain CPR compressions by giving you feedback.

• Not compressing hard enough? It will advise you to push harder.

• Pushing hard enough? It will voice “good compressions.”

• Not pushing fast enough? a metronome will help you regulate your rhythm.

• Not started yet? It will tell you how to proceed again.

• Compressions stopped? It will advise you to continue.

This Zoll AED has it all, Real CPR Help for those SCA victims not needing a shock and prompt shock for those who do and the intelligence to differentiate the difference.

zollautopulseWhat is it?

This is a special CPR device by Zoll Medical Corporation that is battery operated, placed on a patient’s chest after he/she is placed on a back board. It is held in place by a band which tightens around the patient’s chest and with a push of a button,it measures the chest and compressions begin. This device self monitors the force applied to the compressions and how often to perform them.

A Zoll territory manager, Roy Kniveton, said that after the chest is measured the band squeezes the chest displacing it 20%, which is the equivalent of 1 1/2″ to 2″ per the American Heart Association’s guideline for CPR.

Zoll also make the LifeVest, Zoll Defibrillators, the one piece pad and other medical accessories which are very effective in saving lives.

Blood Clotting A Plus or Minus?

dreamstimeextrasmall_8726851Our body is acomplicated unit of checks and balances. Only when our balance is so far out of sync do we need outside help. Cardiovascular ,Respiratory,Digestive,MusculoSkeletal,Neurological system, antibodies, organs, and filtering are among some of our internal systems. I want to focus on the unique way our body tries to repair trauma to vessels (veins and arteries).

If a small vein ruptures a cell called a platelet dashes to the area. It becomes activated by becoming sticky and its shape becomes more spiny. It jumps into the breach along with red blood cells to plug up the opening. More and more platelets arrive and release proteins (thrombin) and other chemicals. Thrombin converts fibrinogen to long strands of fibrin. Fibrin forms a net to hold all the cells in a tight group to seal the break. This is a clot.

If your clot is to heal a trauma that is good. If your clot is from an abnormal condition or a broken piece from plaque on a vein wall, then it can be bad. These can cause heart attacks, thrombosis in deep peripheral veins, or pulmonary emboli.

Heart attacks can result in sudden cardiac arrest. Treatment is defibrillation and CPR for an SCA reversal. Time is the most important factor. The quicker the defibrillator information transmitted the higher the chance of survival.

Emergency Medical Assistance on the Go

zollMy father hasn’t missed a trip to hunting camp in 60 years, and he wasn’t about to stay home this year either. Unfortunately, his health has deteriorated a bit late in life, and he now has a history of cardiac arrest. Earlier this month, I took him in to the doctor’s office to ask his trusted physician about the prospect of traveling out to camp. We were advised that it would be smart to bring along an automatic external defibrillator.

So, we packed up all the usual supplies – the venison jerky, ginger ale, camouflage clothing, knives and rifles – and drove off to meet up with the others at camp. The moment my dad walked in the front door, he seemed 10 years younger. He started joking around with the rest of the guys while I set up the Zoll AED in case of emergency. I’m thankful that he can still enjoy life with the help of advanced medical technology.

Ottawa Harbor Patrol Finds Zoll AED Exceptional

zoll plusThe Ottawa Harbor Patrol police had an incident of one of their boats becoming swamped in rough weather. Even though their pumps were working to remove incoming water the pump failed . The boat filled and their Zoll AED became submerged for four hours.

After the weather subsided and the new pumps removed the water a Harbor Patrol officer tried the defibrillator. Lo and behold it worked. Wanting a professional clearance of the AED it was taken to the Biomedical Department for a thorough inspection.

The device was found to be functional and recertified for use. Zoll AEDs have received ratings of IP55 which is one of the highest ratings of AEDs today. Guess this makes it an exceptional AED.
